It’s been a while since my last update but it doesn’t mean that all has been quiet, in fact it has been anything but.
The eagle-eyed viewers amongst you may have noticed a few ‘issues’ with Blogbetis in the last couple of weeks, with a few of these said issues still persisting.
Without boring you too much, the reason for this is because I have decided to self-host the site for the first time. Basically this means that I will be able to (eventually) do many more things on the site that I haven’t been able to so far due to the WordPress hosting shackles, which should be reap long term benefits.
In the short term however, it means there are quite a few teething problems because a lot of the things you take for granted when a site is hosted on WordPress, you have to now sort out yourself.
Don’t despair, such issues are being ironed out as we speak with many in the palms of the Google gods, who will hopefully sort out accordingly.
The Forever Betis Forum
Now, one of the benefits of going it alone is that I can introduce such things as a forum, which is surprisingly lacking in the English speaking Betis world.
The Forever Betis Forum is my attempt to fill a void.
Many of you may recognise the name. Forever Betis was an utterly fantastic Betis website run by Adam Boyle, an Englishman in Sevilla. Over many years he built a community on his site and, to be fair, posted much more often and much more informatively than me. Adam retired early and stopped his site in 2014 much to the dismay of almost everyone. This however, is my attempt to rekindle the community which has been lacking.
Please do check it out in the link above, make a login and discuss Real Betis till the cows come home. I’ve also added the forum to the main navigation menu at the top. Feel free to spread the news.
Next Up – Real Madrid
Thank goodness the international break is over and club football is back again. Betis are back with a bang and will host Real Madrid on Saturday evening.
I will be uploading a match preview in the next day or two so make sure you keep your eyes peeled.
